HAPPY BIRTHDAY HERMAN

From Jose's Archive
We had set out on a beautiful Sunday morning to ride to Cape Lookout, taking the Trask River logging
road route. We made it to the campground in the dark (we never ride at night!) after a pit stop at the
Pelican Brewery for dinner and to hydrate. The campground was closed, and empty. A random woman in a pickup suggested we camp at the day use area. There had been an event earlier in the day and a row of 5 port-a- potty's had been setup in the day use parking lot. That night a roaring storm came ashore, thus the closed campground. In the middle of the night 2 of the potty's blew over
with loud crashes adding to the chaos of storm. In the morning we were awakened by a Ranger who
told us to get packed up and leave. We were sure the logging road we had rode over the mountain would be a muddy mess, so we called Jose for a rescue. Jose drove out to pick us up and took this
picture. So, what did we learn? Nothing! Thanks again Jose!
